What is Shaap?
Your gateway to the unique culinary experience of Kerala – the tiny state in southern India, which introduced the magic of spices to the world. The very first European traveller to India set his foot on Kerala’s shores.
Shaap – is a local hangout where Keralites go to eat, drink, sing and hygge. Originating from the English word ‘Shop’, ‘Shaap’ is how the people of Kerala call it.
We are a group of food enthusiasts who LOVE food and love exploring food from every nook and corner of the world. However, the taste of home is something we could never forget. We looked far and wide through Denmark trying to find the mighty “porotta and beef fry” and when we could not find it, we decided to offer it ourselves.
This led to the birth of Shaap – the first authentic Kerala restaurant in Scandinavia.

Kei Kei- Our man with the knife has been doing what he does best for more than two decades. With limitless passion for food and having learnt the tricks of the trade in Kerala, his culinary adventures took him first across the Indian subcontinent, followed by a long stint in the Middle East before he set on to give Europe a taste of his skills.
Shaap looks forward to present Kei Kei’s expertise and lip-smacking Kerala delicacies to our patrons in and around the world.
